Emotional Disturbance

Emotional Disturbance

Emotions signal threats and rewards. Much like a compass that guides us in the right direction, emotions have the power to guide us to the right actions. Emotional regulation acts as a modifier; it helps us filter the most important pieces of information and motivates us to attend to it in a way that wouldn’t evoke stress or fear, which are pillars of anxiety, depression, and anger management issues.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a commonly used approach that helps clients investigate their own thought processes, emotions, and behaviours and altering them to elicit desired responses. It is also a helpful component in emotional regulation, working to heighten skills of self-awareness, thought challenging, self-compassion, and more.
We, at Heal Well, we are trained and experienced in incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and emotional regulation tools to help our clients regain control of themselves and their responses.
